Most of us have activities that we take part in on a regular basis which are similar to playing golf. I remember playing when I was a kid. My parents wouldn’t let me stop. Never, ever, I was told. It seemed like it was impossible.
Yet, I played a few rounds of golf. Nay, I was good, but I can’t say I was great. I suppose I could be good. The problem was that I was not great at it.
It is not so much that I don’t enjoy playing golf. I certainly do. I am not great, but I can meet the challenge of playing on a fair surface. The preparation is pretty minimal. Bring a ball, and you can play.
I expect to play to the best of my ability, so I am looking to improve my game somewhat. Here is my set of expectations.

number 2: Should be a par 5 or better

golfer’s rating: Excellent
number 4: At least a par 3, but let’s give it up for a good 3-wood swing

golfer’s rating: Good
number 6: I am Golf Guy! Ever try to hit a volleyball through a hedge?

I played a hole or two at least, but really haven’t gotten into golfing like I should have. Perhaps I just needed to find something that I was willing to give up.

Surely you can’t play golf at a hundredth of the length of your life. Nor could I, so I am choosing to get a bit better. I am not sure if I will keep this up, but it is enjoyable to experiment. If it doesn’t work out, I can always try something else.

It is a bit scary to think about how good this might feel, but I am already measuring my hands and feet again. I am impressed. I am satisfied. I might need to get a new norm for measuring things.
I am not sure if I can resist the temptation to put my rating up.
After all, who knows, it might turn out to be a bug repellent.

I reached the conclusion that I do like to know what I am doing. I am not sure I can STATE my rating (I put 0 in my rating for arm strength).
But, I can say that I am going to keep trying. I really have fun when I am able to do something.
I am going to keep trying to be the best golfer I can be.
I am going to eat better.
I am going to wear my layers.
I am going to do exactly as the book says.
I am going to use the process called “giant tortilla salad”.
I am going to carry a bottle of hand sanitizer.
I might also YouTube videos so that I know what I am doing.

I am going to eat food that has been grated in a tortilla.
